Offer Description

You want to join a leading team on an international project?

Join the Institut des Maladies du Rythme Cardiaque (Liryc ) – at the University of Bordeaux!

Within a university hospital centre, each institute brings together teams of researchers, caregivers and businesses around a single clinical theme (infectious diseases, rare diseases, diseases of the nervous system, etc.).

As part of a research project funded by a Transatlantic Fellowship of the LeDucq Foundation «Bioelectronics For Neurocardiology-Diagnosis & Therapeutics », we are recruiting a Post-Doctoral in Neurocardiology.

Main activities :

The objective of this fellow is to develop neuromodulation technologies for cardiovascular therapies. The work carried out at the IHU Liryc will make it possible to develop mechanistic links between neurons and cardiac myocytes.

We therefore propose to develop advanced bioelectronic devices capable of providing real-time data, coupled with artificial intelligence/ machine learning (AI/ML) assisted approaches.

Our objectives are to:

1. Identify autonomic dysfunction in subjects at high risk of sudden cardiac death (DCS) and ventricular remodelling using new technologies (UCLA, Oxford and Bordeaux)

2. Detect and define the specific contribution of abnormal electrophysiological substrate amplified by heterogeneities in autonomic neurotransmitters that increased vulnerability to ventricular disorders leading to increased vulnerability to ventricular arrhythmias. (UCLA, Bordeaux).

Your role in this project will be to develop a computer model that captures how cardiac myocytes are influenced by neuronal activity.

# Computer models develpment

  • Design mathematical models of electrophysiology
  • Analyze experiments data
  • Program IA and machine learning models

# Scientific dissemination
