Description de l'offre

As part of a multidisciplinary technology research team of experts in hardware IP design and EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools, you will be involved in innovative applied research projects aimed at developing methodologies for modeling and virtual prototyping of SoC (System-on-Chip).
Virtual prototyping enables early-stage design of SoC, helping to reduce development costs and guide architectural choices. CEA develops innovative methodologies for SoC design to ensure the best trade-offs between model availability, simulation speed and accuracy.

Your main tasks will be to:

  • Evaluate the existing and state-of-the-art open source solutions for modeling and virtual prototyping of HW platforms, with a focus on RISC-V architectures.
  • Analyze specifications and features of HW platforms including processors, memory hierarchies, and peripherals.
  • Design innovative methodologies, including machine learning-based modeling, to extend existing simulation platforms with performance evaluation capabilities.
  • Deliver the next generation of simulation methodologies and tools.

You are expected to:

  • Participate to identify research collaboration opportunities with the team
  • Contribute to the laboratory scientific roadmap
  • Manage R&D projects, follow the development progress
  • Collaborate with R&D partners (research and industrial organizations).
  • Contribute to the scientific dissemination of the team's research results (publications in international conferences) and fostering innovation (through patents).
  • Participate in international scientific events (conferences, workshops) as part of the scientific community.

Profil du candidat

You have a PhD or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or equivalent.

You have a confirmed experience (over 3 years) in Computer Architecture and knowledge of digital electronic architectures (processors, caches, network-on-chips, etc.).

You must have acquired the following technical skills:

  • Experience in C/C++ and Python programming languages
  • Experience with simulation tools, in particular QEMU, Spike or SystemC/TLM-based environments

Knowledge in the following would be a plus:

  • Embedded Linux
  • Hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog)
