Offer Description

The research project is dedicated to the study of interactions between the spin of a single carrier in a semiconductor quantum dot and single photons. These spin-photon interfaces, when efficient, can enable key operations for optical quantum technologies, such as the generation of entangled photons in linear cluster states or spin-photon or photon-photon logic gates.

Le travail du post-doctorant sera dédié à l'étude de ces phénomènes physiques dans le cadre des projets de recherche national OQULUS et du projet Européen EPIQUE.

The research work will be mainly experimental, in interaction with our theoretical collaborators. The post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for the proper implementation of the research project, will participate in the supervision of the team's doctoral students and interns, in close collaboration with the team's permanent researchers.
The work covers all activities related to the research project, including participation in project meetings, writing articles, presentations at conferences.

The solid-state quantum optics group at the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology has developed strong expertise in exploiting light-matter interaction at the most fundamental level using semiconductor quantum dots. We develop key resources for optical quantum technologies, including high-performance single photon sources that are at the heart of the Quandela company. In this project, we are developing efficient interfaces between a single material qubit (the spin of a single charge) and single photonic qubits (the polarization of a single photon).

The work will be carried out in a highly collaborative context, within the OQULUS quantum PEPR project, and within the European EPIQUE project, both dedicated to the development of optical quantum computers.
