Offer Description

This position is part of an innovative multidisciplinary research project funded by the Carnot Cognition Institute (Reference: ICC/2023/0076). As part of this project, the person recruited (M/F) will have the opportunity to use various tools for analyzing cognitive and linguistic abilities, as a complement to speech therapy.

Objective 1: To carry out a state-of-the-art review of empirical studies on post-stroke aphasia.
Objective 2: Coordinate the testing of normotensive participants and aphasic patients; collect language and cognitive data, as well as multisensory data (acoustic, video and kinematic) using the Ultraspeech platform. This work will be carried out as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team bringing together various specialists in the fields of cognition and psycholinguistics, neurologists and physicians at Grenoble University Hospital.
Objective 3: Transcribe & analyze data obtained from participants and patients via PRAAT and Phon software. We will look at various pronunciation parameters, as well as the acoustic and articulatory characteristics of the speech signal.
Objective 4: Analyze neuroimaging data to study the effect of the rehabilitation program on cerebral architecture, in particular cerebral reorganization. We propose to study this cerebral reorganization via both functional and structural connectivity.
Supervising and leading a team : The person recruited (M/F) may be required to work in tandem with a Master's student and supervise his/her work.

The person recruited (M/F) may be required to work in tandem with a Master's student and supervise his/her work.
The person recruited (M/F) is expected to present the results of the study to project partners, at seminars and/or conferences, and to take part in the laboratory's scientific popularization activities. The person recruited (M/F) will also contribute to the submission of articles to peer-reviewed journals.

The Laboratoire de Psychologie et Neurocognition, LPNC, is a UMR (5105) attached to the CNRS (CNRS Biology and CNRS Human and Social Sciences) and two universities, the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and the Université Savoie Mont-Blanc. Our laboratory conducts multidisciplinary research in "Cognitive Sciences", thanks to a combined and complementary approach to disciplines belonging to the fields of human and social sciences (psychology, linguistics, neuropsychology), engineering sciences applied to cognition (mathematics, modeling and signal processing) and life sciences (neurosciences, medical sciences, neuroimaging). The LPNC's research activities focus on the study of human cognition in the fields of perception, action, space, memory and language. Research will be carried out mainly at the LPNC and Grenoble University Hospital. The successful candidate (M/F) will join the Language team.
