In the frame of the joint-lab IRP-CNRS “FiberMed” between XLIM research institute and the Translational Biophotonics Laboratory (A*STAR Skin Research Labs, Singapore), we are developing novel biosensing probes based on (specially designed) optofluidic fibers associated with plasmonic nanotechnologies and novel biosensing strategies, with the aim of creating new diagnostic tools for liquid biopsy.
You will be in charge of:
- the development of detection methods of biomarkers (proteins, nucleic acids) in more or less complex biological fluids, based on the use of biosensors (antibodies, DNA probes, etc.) and the spectroscopy Raman-SERS, or fluorescence or by plasmon resonance.
And/or
- increasing the biosensing performances of the optofluidic fiber probes by improving plasmonic interactions, the properties of the optical fibers (fabrication of new optofluidic fibers), the functionalization of these fibers, and the spectroscopy benches (Raman-SERS or fluorescence).
You will be also in charge of co-supervising student interns, and of collaborating with our biologist collaborators involved in this multidisciplinary project.

Conception of biosensing strategies of biomarkers (proteins, nucleic acids) in biological fluids
- Bio-functionalization of optofluidic fibers
- Realization of biosensing experiments of biomarkers (proteins, nucleic acids) in biological fluids
And/or
- Improvement of biosensing performances through theoretical and experimental studies of the plasmonic interactions
- Plasmonic nano-functionalization of the optofluidic fibers and characterization of their biosensing performances.
- Realization of Raman-SERS spectroscopy, fluorescence or surface plasmon resonance measurements.

- Synthesis and dissemination of results
- Co-supervision of students
- Participation in project management

This post-doc takes place within the framework of the Franco-Singaporean FUNSENS project funded by the ANR. The successful candidate will be attached to the XLIM research institute under the dual supervision of the CNRS and the University of Limoges. He (She) will join the “Phot-fibre” team in the “Fiber photonics and coherent photonic sources” axis. He (She) will collaborate with colleagues from A*STAR Singapore and the CAPTUR laboratory (Inserm, Limoges University Hospital, University of Limoges).
The position is located in a sector falling under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with regulations, that your arrival be authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.

Eligibility criteria

Knowledge
- Training in chemistry – biochemistry, or nano-photonics or photonics
- Biomarker detection experiments in fluids
Knowledge appreciated
- Knowledge on developing biosensing assay for proteins and nucleic acids (by using antibodies, nucleic acid probes, etc.)
And/or
- Knowledge on nano-plasmonic for Raman-SERS
- Expertise in Raman-SERS and fluorescence spectroscopy
