The researcher will be responsible for the following tasks
- Development of new ways of functionalizing and finishing yarns and fabrics from bast fibres in a more environmentally friendly way via the use of organic matrices: understanding of fibre/resin interactions and optimization of final properties.
- Development of natural resin/yarn or textile assemblies from bast fibres, particularly in composites.

The candidate will be a member of a research consortium between an academic research laboratory (IS2M) and a textile company (Bio@Tex joint laboratory). The aim is to innovate for the reduction of carbon footprint and energy consumption, and to develop new bio-based materials and non-polluting processes.
Collaboration through the research of new high-performance bio-based materials
to replace synthetic fibres (little or not recycled) by bast fibres in fields such as automotive, aeronautics, etc... has been initiated in 2020.

The work will be carried out within the framework of the Radical Chemistry of CRM Materials team of the Institute of Materials Science in Mulhouse.
