Offer Description

The Giant Radio Array for Neutrino Detection (GRAND) project aims at detecting ultra-high energy particles via a set of ~20 gi antenna arrays of 10,000 km2 each, totaling 200,000 antennas over 200,000 km2 by the 2030s. It stands out today as a uniq experiment which plans to reach ambitious sensitivity and angular resolution to launch multi-messenger ultra-high-energy ast A design has been proposed for the GRAND detector and the instrumentation and trigger system, as well as the data analysi are being tested, calibrated and optimized with 3 prototypes, in France (GRAND@Nançay), Argentina (GRAND@Auger) and C (GRANDProto300).

The goal of this PhD project is to develop and test in situ novel particle parameter reconstruction tools, and to prepare for the messenger data analysis of the future stages of GRAND.
Three lines of work are proposed, that will be performed in tight collaboration with the GRAND team of the University of Toky Analyse the data of GRANDProto300 and develop an event selection method. (2) Develop and test algorithms to reconstruct parameters of cosmic-rays, based on the radio signals measured by GRAND prototypes. (3) Develop ultra-high energy neutri reconstruction methods.
All of the developed frameworks will be applied and evaluated primarily on GRANDProto300, in China.
