Offer Description
The aim of the project is to provide proven expertise in developing innovative solutions, particularly in the field of materials other than rare earths, to contribute to the establishment of a platform for regenerating and reusing batteries for a second service life. The mechanism of Li-Ion battery cell ageing is complex, and there is currently no reliable method for predicting battery life. However, predicting battery life is a crucial factor for second-life reuse.
To clarify the relationship between the risk of failure (reliability) and the prediction of battery life in their reuse profile, a micro and macro characterisation protocol has been developed. The study will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the system's state and failure mechanisms by correlating the results of multiple analyses. These analyses will include microstructure analysis using X-ray Diffraction, Electron Microscopy (SEM) (environmental or not), TEM, and EDMA; volume and surface composition analysis using ICP-MS/OES, XPS, Tof-SIMS, Raman, and FTIR; topology analysis using AFM and profilometry; and dielectric behavior analysis using impedancemetry. Based on these in-depth studies, research will be conducted on rapid and non-intrusive control techniques.
