You will join a team of twelve engineers and technicians in charge of the design, assembly, characterization, installation and maintenance of magnets and X-ray sources (so-called undulators) in the accelerator complex of the ESRF. The team has developed a large experience in the measurement of complex magnetic systems, using Hall probe based and fluxmeter based instruments for 2D and 3D field mapping.

Under the technical supervision of the engineers of the team, you will:

  • Contribute to the electronics and software development of instruments dedicated to magnetic measurements
  • Install and maintain magnetic measurement benches developed in-house
  • Calibrate these instruments and follow up the calibrations
  • Install equipment in the accelerator complex
  • Write technical documentation

Part of your work could be carried out in shifts, following ESRF regulations.
