In the context of energy transition, the use of hydrogen as an energy vector appears as an unavoidable solution. Systems using proton conduction ceramic materials, due to their flexibility and high efficiency, will occupy a first-rate place in the energy transition. The 2030 Hydrogen Recovery Plan, PEPR-H2, has declined several projects including a project focused on protonic materials; it is within the framework of this project, entitled PROTEC, that this post-doc is funded.
The young researcher will focus on optimizing electrochemical measurement techniques for proton ceramic cells. The compounds BaCe0.9-xZrxY0.1O3-d (BCZY) exhibit the best proton conductivity properties at 600°C among perovskite-structured oxides and will be used as the electrolyte. The aim will be to optimize the test setup for complex impedance measurements to characterize the electrochemical properties of these cells.

The work to be carried out during this researcher fellowship will be based on the ICB's expertise in electrochemical measurements of protonic conduction electrolyte fuel cell (PCEC) cells. A test bench will be optimized to measure their performance through complex impedance measurements and polarization curves.
The work will consist of adapting and optimizing the Fiaxell electrochemical test bench to measure cell performance. The results will provide insight into the mechanisms during operation in both fuel cell and electrolyzer modes and will clarify the key steps underlying the performance of PCECs.

The researcher will be based at the ICB laboratory (330 people) on the Dijon campus. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct electrochemical tests at the laboratory in Dijon. The ICB is organized into six scientific departments, and the PhD research will take place within the PMDM department, in the electrochemistry-hydrogen research group.

This position falls under the purview of the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with regulations, that your arrival be authorized by the relevant authority within the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESR).
