The issue of complex thinking represents the horizon for many sciences and disciplines in the 21st century, both from a theoretical point of view (in physics, climate sciences, sociology, economics, urban planning, management and many other domains) and from a practical point of view (thinking about crises, decision-making and risk management). The UMR 7304 Centre Gilles Gaston Granger has been involved for several years in research into transdisciplinarity and complex thinking, with a view to their practical application: intra- and extra-university training, active participation in citizen collaborative platforms, interaction with the world of management and sustainable development.
The professor recruited will conduct cutting-edge research in the history and philosophy of science at the Université d'Aix-Marseille, and more specifically at the Centre Gilles Gaston Granger, with a dual focus on the history of philosophy (particularly modern and contemporary) and the questioning of the present on the one hand, and on the scientific and social environment of the AMU on the other, in order to develop transdisciplinary cooperation and training projects.
Through their research and teaching activities, they will be involved in the research priorities of the Centre Gilles Gaston Granger. Priority will be given to Axis 1 (History and philosophy of science) but, by virtue of the research theme, he/she will also develop activities in strict cooperation with Axis 2 (History of philosophy and ontology of the present).
