Télécom SudParis is hiring an assistant Professor (Maître de Conférences) in Computer Science for the Computer Science Department (https://www.inf.telecom-sudparis.eu/ ). We are looking for a high-potential candidate with teaching and research experience in the field of Computer Science carrying a research project related to the activities of the DiSSEM research group (Distributed Systems, Software Engineering and Middleware, https://www.inf.telecom-sudparis.eu/dissem/ ). The DiSSEM group is part of the ACMES team (https://samovar.telecom-sudparis.eu/index.php/en/accueil-2/) of the SAMOVAR laboratory.

EXPECTED PROFILE

This position aims to strengthen our ability to address the new challenges brought by next generation digital infrastructures, in terms of the heterogeneity and volatility of computing nodes, the volume of data continuously produced and the energy consumption. The complexity, heterogeneity and dynamicity inherent in new distributed hardware and software infrastructures make code difficult to write and maintain. It is therefore essential to propose new middleware, abstractions and models to simplify the design and development of distributed applications using a software engineering approach.

The candidate must have strong skills in one or more of the following research topics related to dynamic and heterogeneous distributed systems: 1) Software engineering, model-driven engineering, formal methods; 2) Microservice-based software architectures, middleware; 3) IoT/Cloud/Fog/Edge computing continuum: self-adaptive and autonomic systems and, 4)Digital sobriety and energy efficiency. The targeted applications include crosswise use cases involving smart cities, healthcare area, etc. A participation to the E4C (Energy for Climate, https://www.e4c.ip-paris.fr ) interdisciplinary center of Institut Polytechnique de Paris is foreseen regarding the energy efficiency of digital technology, or the contribution of digital technology to intelligent buildings and smart grids in particular.

The candidate will be responsible for teaching and organizing courses in the engineering and master programs at Télécom SudParis. Besides teaching, the recruitee should design and organize teaching activities for undergraduate and graduate students, coordinate pedagogical teams and supervise students in scholar and research projects, internships, etc.

• International experience is a plus
• Qualification by the CNU in section 27 is desired
