The LUT School of Energy Systems is looking for a university lecturer in the field of energy technology.
At LUT University, energy technology refers to technology and systems needed in the production, transfer, distribution, and use of energy. The key issues are energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.
Energy technology studies at LUT are the most wide-ranging in the field in Finland. In addition to in-depth technological know-how, the Degree Programme in Energy Technology aims to provide students with extensive knowledge of different fields of the energy industry. LUT's bachelor's and master's programmes in energy technology are internationally accredited.
The duties include:
- teaching and administrative tasks of the international Bachelor's Programme in Energy Technology; the language of instruction is English
- preparation and supervision of laboratory work
- supervision and coordination of bachelor's theses together with other energy technology personnel.
A university lecturer must have a university master’s degree in energy technology, fluid flow and heat transfer, or another applicable field. A doctoral degree is considered an advantage. The position requires teaching skills and supervision experience, and pedagogical training is considered an advantage. The courses taught by the lecturer are basic courses in the field of energy technology and require good knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics. Experience in energy technology measurements is an advantage. For the purposes of final theses, good connections to the local business community are considered an advantage.
In addition, according to LUT University’s regulations, the ability to provide high-quality education on a wide range are taken into consideration.
The work will start in May 2024 (negotiable). The employment relationship is permanent and full-time. The position starts with a six-month trial period.
Your home campus will be in Lahti. The salary is based on the current collective agreement for Finnish universities. The typical gross starting salary for a university lecturer is approximately 49,300- 57,500 euros a year (plus a holiday bonus).
