The University of Helsinki International trainee programme is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.  

Join our international project management team as an intern at Viikki Tropical Resources Institute, Department of Forest Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. This role offers the chance to assist in coordinating and managing international higher education projects in Southeast Asia. The University of Helsinki International trainee programme is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.

About the position:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in project management and monitoring.
  • Assist in the development of new project proposals.
  • Engage in effective communication with international project partners.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Enrolled in the international Master’s Programme in Forest Sciences, University of Helsinki
  • Proficient in written and spoken English. Other language skills are an asset.
  • Strong computing skills, including MS Office proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

The duration of a traineeship is 1 September to 31 December 2024 (four months) of part-time (50%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €700 per month for a part-time (50%) trainee.

The person we are looking for:

We expect you to have an interest in and the willingness to learn more about higher education projects in forest sciences. We hope you have a development orientated mindset and the ability to work independently. We expect you to have excellent oral and written communication skills and the capability to produce written material for various channels. Good IT skills are an asset.
