TRAINEE for Science Communications at the Kumpula Campus

We are now looking for a TRAINEE for Science Communications with a focus on natural sciences (chemistry, mathematics, and statistics) at the Kumpula Campus. The University of Helsinki International trainee programme is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme. 

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an intern with an open mind and an interest in learning. Your main tasks will include science communication through different channels and networking with scientists and students.  

We expect you to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. You are familiar with different social media and online communications channels, and you are interested in natural sciences. Image and video editing (Adobe etc.) and web content management systems (Drupal etc.) skills are an asset as well as previous media contacts. You are positive, curious, and interested in sharing ideas – both able to work independently and in a team.

You will work within the Communications Team at Kumpula Campus, which is the home of the Faculty of Science, specializing in research and teaching in the exact natural sciences. 

The duration of a traineeship is from 1 September to 31 December 2024 (four months) of part-time (50%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €700 per month for a part-time (50%) trainee.
