Trainee for Career Services

The University of Helsinki International trainee programme is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.  

We are looking for a trainee for Career Services.

The trainee will be working as a member of the guidance team and SIMHE (Supporting Immigrants in Higher Education) in Career Services. We help our students and SIMHE customers in finding their career paths e.g. by offering individual counselling, organizing workshops and events and developing digital self-study material for individual career planning.

As a trainee your main tasks include e.g.:
-    developing our self-study materials
-    planning and conducting group interviews for SIMHE research
-    helping to prepare the upcoming season of our group mentoring programme

Additionally as a trainee you will have the possibility to:

- help with our new webinar series
- market and organize Career Services / SIMHE events
- enhance your skills required to work in a multicultural team - take part in team and network meetings
- participate in other team tasks and projects according to your interest
- practise Finnish

We expect you to have either good communication skills or the willingness to develop them, and that you are interested in learning about and working with other working life skills, mentoring, and intercultural work. We value analytical thinking skills and the ability to work both independently as well as in a team, having a proactive approach and taking initiative.

The duration of a traineeship is 1 September to 31 December 2024 (four months) of part-time (50%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €700 per month for a part-time (50%) trainee.
