We are now inviting applications for a Tenure Track position in Accounting.  The position is located in the School of Accounting and Finance , which is one of Finland's largest educational units in its field and internationally known for its high-quality research activities. The position will be filled primarily as a fixed-term Assistant or Associate Professor position and offers an excellent opportunity to build a multifaceted academic career in a dynamic and international environment.

Position description

The field of this position is accounting, especially financial accounting and/or auditing. The aim is to from the perspective of the University's strategy further strengthen the School’s research activities in one or more of its focus areas: 

(1) Financial Markets, Instruments, and Institutions, 

(2) Financial Analysis of Firm policies and Outcomes, 

(3) Governance and Compliance, 

(4) Responsibility and Sustainability, and 

(5) Risk Measurement and Management. 

The selected candidate will also have an opportunity to participate in the activities of our three multi-disciplinary research platforms focusing on the key themes of: Energy and sustainable development, digital economy, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

The tenure track position is research-oriented, but also includes teaching, thesis supervision, acquiring external funding for research projects and university administrative tasks. The responsibilities in teaching and supervision are mainly connected to the Bachelor’s Programme in Accounting and Finance , the Master’s Degree Programme in Accounting and Auditing , and the Doctoral Programme in Business Studies . 

Applicants are required to have an applicable doctoral degree together with excellent academic merit as well as evidence of the potential to produce high quality research, the teaching and supervision skills required in the position, and the ability to acquire external funding. In addition the successful candidate will have a broad network of collaborators and can show evidence of societal impact, scientific cooperation as well as international activities according to the career stage. Experience in development and administration within the academic community as well as pedagogical education are considered merits.
