Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics  (JSBE) is currently seeking to recruit staff to the position of

Senior Lecturer in accounting and finance. The position is fixed-term for 5 years, starting on 1st January 2022, or as agreed.

The task focuses on the area of corporate finance. The main duties of Senior Lecturer include teaching and research in the fields of accounting and finance. Teaching tasks include teaching and guidance in the areas of accounting and finance at the levels of basic, subject and advanced studies. Senior Lecturer also supervises bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses. The person selected for the position is expected to actively participate in the development of teaching as well as acquire external research funding.

The position includes teaching tasks in financial statement analysis, corporate finance, corporate governance and capital budgeting.

Qualifications we are looking for

The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of senior lecturer are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines.  University may grant exemption from this requirement. In this position excellent English skills and an ability to teach in English are required.

Senior lecturer is required to have a relevant doctoral degree, evidence of academic research work in the fields of accounting and finance, the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and to supervise theses and dissertations. In addition, relevant practical experience in the field of accounting and finance, and evidence of international networking are considered as an advantage to the applicant.

The annual salary range will be approximately 40.000 – 64.000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
