We are now looking for a Research Scientist or Senior Scientist to join our Value-driven sustainable construction -team!
With us, you can enhance your skills in cutting-edge AI applications for the construction metaverse. As a Research Scientist or Senior Scientist, you will join top-level research, collaborate with industry leaders, and play an essential role in national and international RDI projects, fostering innovation with our team and engaging closely with the real estate and construction sector partners. As we are looking for either a Research Scientist or a Senior Scientist to join us, we encourage talents from different seniority levels to apply for this position!
Our Value-driven Sustainable Construction research team comprises 10 experts advancing sustainability and circularity in the built environment with business opportunities. The team is part of the Smart Energy and Built Environment research area, researching and creating methods and digital solutions for sustainable building construction and renovation processes.
Your responsibilities as a Research Scientist or Senior Scientist:
- Identifying project opportunities and preparing funding applications for research projects with your colleagues
- Working within projects of different types (e.g., EU, Business Finland and customer projects)
- Interacting and collaborating with potential and existing customers
- Conducting research and development activities to create solutions for sustainable construction and smart built environment, disseminating the learnings
- Writing reports and deliverables, and conducting other research-related tasks.
Who we are looking for:
- You are willing to create a career in science and technology in the built environment.
- Preferably, you have knowledge and experience in building technologies, construction or real-estate/facilities management, or data management related to the built environment; your experience can be either from companies or academic research.
- You have knowledge or experience in project preparation, or willingness to learn it.
- You have basic technical understanding of ICT technologies in construction (e.g. BIM software, open data standards, interoperability, etc), and we appreciate related programming skills.
- You speak English fluently; Finnish is highly appreciated and we highly encourage learning Finnish (we offer Finnish language training for international VTTers to support adaptation to the VTT working community and Finland)
- You are happy to interact with customers and other stakeholders in the field.
