We have an opening for the full time position of

RESEARCH MANAGER

in Kouvola starting on 1 September 2021 and continuing until further notice. 

We are looking for a developer of creative economy with competence to participate in modern scientific communication as well as social debate and development relevant to both regional and industry-specific development.

Research Manager works for the Research Unit of Creative Industries, a part of Xamk's focus area of Digital Economy. The main priorities of the research unit's research teams involve the methodological development of creative economy and creative business.

Your operating sector is interested in creative business models and in both developing creative economy business and making use of creative economy expertise. Your research and development work promotes the growth of intangible capital in the companies and communities of the region and helps industrial and service companies increase the added value of their products and services. In addition, you facilitate collaboration between value networks and support development processes through design management, foresight, data and responsible leadership development.

Your duties also include applying for external project funding, developing cooperation and directing the implementation of projects as well as publishing activities. We also expect interest in developing teaching and in teaching and mentoring work in your area of expertise.

Applicants are required to have a suitable master's degree and work experience in research and development, especially in the contexts of creative economy. Requirements also include evidence of successful project preparation. In addition, successful applicants have competence to promote the project-based work and hub operations of our multidisciplinary unit, as well as the effectiveness of RDI activities in corporate contexts.

Successful performance in the position requires good interaction and cooperation skills as well as good communication skills in Finnish and English. Interest in Russia is considered an advantage. In addition, we value experience of international cooperation and regional development, postgraduate studies and the ability to work with students in business projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Pay and other employment contract terms are determined in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the Private Education Sector issued by the Finnish Education Employers. Final appointment to the position is subject to the successful completion of a probationary period.
