Are you interested in working at the interface of research and research services and developing related services and processes that support research? We are now looking for a research funding advisor to a position that has emphasis on international research funding.

About the position

As a research funding advisor, you are responsible for the research funding services for medical, health and life sciences at the Meilahti campus of University of Helsinki, as part of campus service team. You will activate researchers in applying for funding, develop service processes supporting research funding, liaise with research funders and give support and advice the researchers to improve the quality of funding applications. You will also take care of communication and training in matters pertaining to research funding. In addition, you will support the leadership of faculties/units in applying for research funding and participate in the preparation of research funding strategies.

Your work will mainly locate on the Meilahti campus. The position will be offered for a fixed term between 11/2022 – 12/2024, or as agreed. Research funding advisor´s starting salary will range from 3800 to 4100 €/month, depending on the experience and expertise of the appointee.

About you

You have strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and you get easily along with various type of people. At the same time, you work in independent, systematic way and show initiative.  You lead yourself in a goal-oriented manner and you have a solution-focused mindset of service.

You have a higher education degree, preferably on one of the fields of the campus. We value a doctoral degree, extensive knowledge of universities and research funders, experience in administrative and service positions, and good IT skills. In our international environment, you communicate with excellent oral and written proficiency in English. Proficiency in Finnish will be considered as an asset.
