The University of Lapland seeks a Research Coordinator for the period 1 August 2022 – 31 December 2024.

The appointed person is to coordinate research and education networking in pilots that the University of Lapland is engaged in. As research coordinator, your tasks will be to coordinate (incl. planning, implementing, and reporting) the Global Pilots program at the University of Lapland and to collaborate with four national Global Pilots networks (USA, India, China, and Africa) in which the University of Lapland is a partner. You are also expected to perform other related tasks defined by employer, to act as the contact person for the pilots, and to exchange information about the pilots with the four faculties and the Arctic Center and their experts. Finally, you will work in close collaboration with other academic coordinators, international research and education staff, and the university administration.

Requirements:

- a PhD in a relevant field

- fluent English skills

- excellent coordination skills and experience in international networking

- extensive cultural knowledge and communication skills

- strong knowledge about academic research and education

- an independent and active attitude

- an understanding about the university strategy

Salary and work conditions

The position is located at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland. Salaries are based on the job demands and employees’ personal performance in accordance with the Finnish University Salary System. The annual minimum salary is approximately 44.955 EUR (gross income, excluding holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months applies to all new employees.
