The Department of Information Technology at Åbo Akademi in Åbo, Finland has thriving research in the area of industrial internet. We have a strong track record in cooperative research with industry, and in more long term research such as software testing, autonomous systems, and signal identification. Our cooperation partners include Wärtsilä, Nokia, and Interdigital. The research is funded through Business Finland, Academy of Finland, Ecsel, and Horizon 2020. We are part of the internationally renowned Faculty of Natural Science and Technology, which hosts the Finnish Flagship project InFlames.
We are currently expanding our activities in Vaasa in Ostrobothnia with a new masters program and with research activities in cooperation with the expanding Energy Cluster in Vaasa .
To strengthen our team in Vasa we invite applications to a position as Associate Professor or Professor in Information Technology. The position's area of responsibility includes teaching and research in information technology with an emphasis on digitalisation of industry and wider society to create sustainable solutions. The research area aims, among other things, to develop innovative digital solutions to enable sustainable energy systems in collaboration with Energy Technology at ÅAU in Vaasa. An interesting area of development is digital solutions for the health and welfare field.
