6G Flagship is the world’s first major 6G research programme running from 2018 to 2028. We are already a team of 400 researchers from 50 different countries. Having built the rigorous research programme defined in our 6G White Papers, we are constantly looking for talents defining the 6G future with us. During 2023, a large number of international (Korea and Japan), EU funded (Hexa-X-II) and national projects will be started. These new activities alongside with our flagship basefunding need constantly new talented researchers.
We are now looking for several
Postdoctoral Researchers
in 6G Wireless Connectivity research team led by 6G Flagship Director, Prof. Matti Latva-aho. 6G must provide increased transmission capabilities, as well as safe and dependable global service delivery. Wireless access research focuses on exploring efficient transmission alternatives for various use scenarios having vastly different requirements operating at frequency bands up to sub-THz region. Higher energy and cost efficiencies are needed to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which is a major driver of our research. Integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) or joint communications and sensing (JCS) transceivers will be crucial. Due to the highly dynamic radio channel, adaptability to varying conditions must be supported. Thus AI/ML inspired radio interfaces are on our research agenda. For ever increasing demand for capacity, cell free architectures and the latest MIMO techniques are studied along with techniques aided by reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS). Due to the societal needs to speed up digitalization, we also explore new ways for deploying local connectivity: densification, utilization of higher spectrum bands, dynamic spectrum use concepts, radio resource and interference management, user mobility and roaming in local networks, etc. are also of our current interests.
These postdoctoral positions will be placed at the 6G Flagship within Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Oulu.
