Postdoctoral researcher position in circular economy and sustainable supply chain management at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher for investigating the transformation of the plastics supply chain and wider ecosystem to more sustainable and circular operations.

The research will be carried out within two related projects: Valuebiomat  and the workpackage on “Transforming the plastics ecosystem through new business models” (WP3) and Plastlife  with the task to “Develop a toolkit for innovation and business model development for sustainable plastics”.

The three-year position is available immediately.

Job requirements

  • We expect you to conduct research of the highest standards
  • We value your ability to publish papers in the leading journals of your research field
  • We value curiosity, open-mindness, and ability to conduct research independently
  • Expertise in polymeric materials, 3D printing, innovation policy, life cycle assessment, or mathematical modeling is considered a merit.

The postdoctoral researcher will carry out his/her own research within the projects in collaboration with other research groups, as well as specify and instruct master’s thesis projects conducted with companies and other project stakeholders.

We provide you with an opportunity to teach in our courses on operations management, strategy, or entrepreneurship. The postdoctoral positions are planned to include one course of teaching per year, but the teaching load is negotiable. Most of our courses are taught by teams rather than by individual teachers. Also, we provide our postdoctoral scholars with the opportunity to do pedagogical studies and appreciate your interest in education development.
