Offer Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher, who is interested in multiple sclerosis pathology, imaging and drug development, for a 36-month fixed-term position starting 1 May 2024 to 30 April 2027. The start date of employment is flexible.
The successful applicant will join the neuroimaging lab of Prof. Laura Airas (Department of Clinical Neurosciences). The main goal of research in the Airas research group is to understand the pathobiology of multiple sclerosis using non-invasive or minimally invasive imaging methods, particularly MRI and PET. In addition, the group develops new MRI techniques and PET radioligands to evaluate and follow up imaging abnormalities and how they relate to clinical disability. The aim of this effort is to adapt new imaging and biomarker techniques as relevant outcome measures in both clinical trials and patient care in multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system.
The main responsibilities of the position include clinical MRI/PET image analysis and reporting, focusing on glial pathology in multiple sclerosis. Additional duties will include active involvement in project management, student supervision and dissemination and communication activities (manuscript preparation/submission, conference participation and networking).
