Post-doctoral researcher or researcher in innovation management

The research group of LUT Kouvola is recruiting a post-doctoral researcher or researcher in innovation management starting in summer 2022. The final job title will be decided depending on the candidate’s qualifications. 

We are looking for a prominent scholar with interest in innovation management, open and collaborative innovation, innovation ecosystems, innovation networks and strategies, and international knowledge networks and platforms. The successful candidate will engage in high‐quality research and teaching on innovation management. LUT Kouvola’s research expertise includes but is not limited to new business models for sustainable business development; open innovation strategy development and implementation; business, start-up and spin-off acceleration and developing go-to-market, scaling-up and internationalization strategies; training creativity, entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, strategic thinking, innovation and business acceleration skills and open innovation competences; sustainable supply chain management and logistics, blockchain and green growth models. Unit members have published their research in various leading academic journals including Technovation, Technology Forecasting and Social Change, the Journal of Business Research, Decision Support Systems, Management Decision, the Journal of Innovation Management, and the International Journal of Innovation Management

LUT Kouvola will start a new international Master’s Programme in Innovation and Logistics in autumn 2022. The programme is designed to respond to global economic and digitalization challenges and prepare students for management positions in innovation, logistics and entrepreneurship. 

Requirements 

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in innovation management or a related field by 1 April 2022
  • Established record or high potential of solid scholarly research commensurate with rank
  • Passion for teaching and interacting with students at various levels
  • Interest in project development and management work (EU and national project frameworks)
  • Willingness to learn Finnish. The unit provides excellent support (including teaching load reduction) to become fluent in Finnish within two years.

Post-doctoral researcher

In addition to a doctoral degree, a post-doctoral researcher is required to have the ability for independent scientific work and teaching skills for the performance of the duties. 

The employment contract of a post-doctoral researcher is fixed-term (1+3 years). The positions include a six-month trial period, and the salary is determined according to the salary system for university teaching and research personnel. The annual salary range of post-doctoral researchers is approximately 45 600–54 000 euros (gross income including holiday bonus) depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

Researcher

The employment contract of a researcher is fixed-term (4 years). The position includes a six-month trial period, and the salary of the researcher is determined according to the salary system for university teaching and research personnel. The annual salary range of researchers is approximately 45 600–54 000 euros (gross income including holiday bonus) depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
