Post-doctoral researcher in quantitative business analytics

The LUT School of Business and Management (LBM) is looking for a post-doctoral researcher in quantitative business analytics.

The position will complement the competences of our existing research group focusing on topics of strategic finance and business analytics. The post-doctoral researcher will work on research and education in collaboration with the LBM staff and researchers of other disciplines. The research team at LBM is led by Professor Pasi Luukka.

We are looking for a motivated person with a can-do attitude who is passionate about industry-oriented problem-solving by using various analytics methods. The ideal candidate has documented skills to solve difficult real-world problems using different types of analytics approaches, such as descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics. The ability to develop analytical methods further and having strong skills in programming and mathematics are appreciated. We value evidence of successful project work and international research collaboration. 

Documented evidence of teaching excellence and experience in the acquisition of competitive externalfunding (e.g. Business Finland, Academy of Finland, EU) are considered an advantage. Furthermore, we are looking for candidates with strong skills in research communication and dissemination (offline and online). Finnish skills are an advantage. We are looking for a person capable of teamwork in a multi-disciplinary environment.

The post-doctoral researcher is required to have a doctoral degree in a field relevant to the position, such as business analytics, strategic finance, or computer science, and the ability for independent scientific work, the ability to work with different industrial and societal stakeholders, and a solid publication record in international academic journals.

The salary is based on the current collective agreement for Finnish universities. The annual salary range of post-doctoral researchers is approximately 46 700 – 54 500 euros (plus a holiday bonus) depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
