We are now looking for a Master’s Thesis Worker to join our Nuclear Reactor Materials team. Join us - and let’s make an impact together!

As a Master’s Thesis Worker, your key goal is to investigate the microstructural properties of metallic materials (nickel-based alloys and stainless steels) in service environments. In this position, you will have an essential role in characterizing the metallic materials subject to mechanical and corrosion tests relevant to the safety of nuclear power plants. Our team works on fracture, corrosion, ageing and other relevant fields of nuclear materials.


As a Master’s Thesis Work, you will:
  • Specimen preparation and various baseline and post-test characterizations on surfaces and cross-sections, including but not limited to optical and scanning electron microscopy.Depending on the capabilities and interest of the Master’s Thesis Worker, the work may include other selected advanced techniques like EBSD, ECCI, XRD, FIB, TKD or TEM.
  • Depending on the background and interest of the Master’s Thesis Worker, the project can be focused on fracture or corrosion mechanisms or additive manufacturing.
  • Literature survey and writing of the Master Thesis.

Who we are looking for:
  • You are a student in material science, metallurgy or a similar area.
  • You are familiar with material mechanical tests and have hands-on experience with material characterization methods like SEM. Knowledge of advanced characterization tools will be a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of corrosion, electrochemistry, SCC or advanced manufacturing will be a plus.
