Fixed term position for Doctoral Researcher or Project Researcher

National PET Centre is looking for a Doctoral Researcher or Project Researcher for time period 2.1.2023 - 31.5.2023. The position possibly continues for another fixed term period after that. The position can be filled for a Doctoral Researcher or Project Researcher according to the background of the applicant.

The National PET Centre is a joint institution of University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University and Turku University hospital, which is concentrated in research of positron emission tomography and offers imaging services for example to academic research, clinical diagnostics, and drug development.

The Doctoral Researcher or Project Researcher will handle data from cardiovascular diseases relate research and build predictive models.

Eligibility requirement for the position is master’s degree from suitable area (such as medicine, computer science, applied mathematics, bioimaging), knowledge of handling medical data and image processing, programming skills, experience of applying artificial intelligence in real-world data, and fluent English language skill. Experience in analysing of medical images, cardiovascular research and machine learning involving coding is an advantage. A Doctoral Researcher must have a study right in the Turku University Doctoral Programme, otherwise the title of a Project Researcher is used.

The salary will be based on the university job demands chart levels 2, where the task-specific salary component is 2108,40 euros per month. In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid. The personal performance component is 6 - 50% of the task-specific salary component. 

A two (2) month trial period applies to the position.
