Financial Specialist for EIT programs 

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) forms an integral part of the European Union framework Horizon programs. EIT connects business, education and innovation in dynamic cross-border partnerships known as Knowledge and Innovation Communities – KICs. 

Aalto University is a partner in six EIT KICs: Climate-KIC, EIT Digital, EIT Raw Materials, EIT InnoEnergy, EIT Urban Mobility and EIT Manufacturing ( The education, innovation and business creation activities of EIT KICs are strategically important at Aalto University 

We are looking for a Financial Specialist to coordinate the financial administration of the EIT activities in cooperation with Aalto's Financial Services and other service functions. The position is part of the Aalto Innovation Ecosystem Services in the interface with Financial Services. In this role, you are independently responsible for the financial reporting of EIT KIC activities and audits, communication between Aalto and KICs in financial issues, communication about the KICs at Aalto, and when needed, supporting other Finnish KIC partners. You train Aalto service personnel in EIT financial matters and develop EIT financial administration at Aalto. You work in close cooperation with Aalto's Financial Services, other Aalto services and academics.

This is a fixed term position until the end of August 2022 with possibility of continuation.

In order to succeed in this job, we expect you to have

  • Strong experience in financial administration and accounting
  • Experience in financial administration of EU projects
  • Fluent oral and written knowledge in Finnish and English
  • Independent and active way of working
  • Appetite to work on demanding and challenging tasks
  • Strong cooperation and negotiation skills
  • Interest in EIT financial administration and its development
  • A master's degree.
