The laboratory of Dr. Johanna Englund at Cell tissue dynamics research program at the Institute of Biotechnology, HiLIFE, University of Helsinki, is looking for 1) a doctoral researcher and 2) a postdoctoral researcher in the field of cancer biology.
Englund lab (www.englundlab.com ) investigates how the composition and dynamics of extracellular matrix and basement membrane (BM) are regulated during mammary tissue development and tumorigenesis. We are especially interested in understanding the role of BM in breast cancer initiation. We use human and mouse model systems, including patient-derived organoid cultures, imaging and proteomics for these studies. The doctoral and postdoctoral projects will focus on understanding the dynamics of BM in normal and malignant epithelial growth and determining the functional role of BM during breast cancer initiation.
