Associate or full professor (tenure track) in Separation technology for biorefining, LUT Lahti Campus

LUT School of Engineering Science  in collaboration with Marjatta and Eino Kolli foundation is looking for a professor in Separation technology for biorefining.

The position is based in Lahti Campus and situated at the associate professor or full professor levels of the tenure track. The position is filled for a four-year fixed term (associate professor) or until further notice (full professor). 

The associate professor or full professor is expected to demonstrate a high level of academic competence in separation science in a research field relevant to current and novel biorefining processes. We expect the research of the applicant to revolve around these themes, keeping in mind industrial applicability. Industrial experience is considered an additional asset for the applicant. The research may include but is not limited to

  • the extraction of components from solid biomass
  • the purification and fractionation of biomass components
  • the separation of components from liquors
  • forest-based biorefinery processes
  • the separation of fibre fractions to value-added products.

We value experience in successful project work and securing competitive funding. Proof of and potential in high-impact international publishing are expected. Collaborative skills both within LUT and with national and international partners are crucial for the task, and the demonstration of successful international collaboration is considered an asset for the applicant.

  • a copy of the applicant's doctoral diploma
  • a full list of publications, including the total number of publications in the Web of Science and Scopus databases, the total number of citations, the h-index and Scopus ID. In addition, equivalent information from your Google Scholar profile is required.
  • publications for evaluation by experts (max. 10) 
  • a separate list of the publications submitted for expert evaluation
  • a teaching portfolio  or an equivalent account of your teaching qualifications
  • an account of your merits and activities of significance to the vacancy (max. 3 pages)
  • an account in English of your vision on the development of education, research and projects in the field of the professorship at LUT University (max. 3 pages).
  • Please specify the tenure track level applied to. The work starts with a six-month trial period.
