We are looking for a Junior Research Information Specialist to Aalto University

Your role

We are looking for an agile problem-solver for the Junior Research Information Specialist position. 

In this role you play an important part in strengthening our data quality processes, and practices. You will be managing research information and turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used for data driven decisions and impact. 

The position is fixed term and ends in the end of January 2022.

What we are looking for

You are data driven person who can track efficiently and in innovative ways quality errors and security issues and improve data. In this role, you ensure data quality in Aalto University key research information systems (from funding to outputs) as well as developing and maintaining the processes.  You can identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve congruent and reliable issues through the error detection and process design. You are capable to focus on high impact areas and ask smart questions and capture innovation potential, security issues and communication impact possibilities. You understand data as a managed strategic asset, and you are familiar with research funding and publicization.

In addition, we appreciate capabilities and experience in

  • Research funding applications and research processes
  • Technical capabilities for SharePoint, Power BI, Microsoft Office, Elsevier's Pure and Data Warehouse 

We are a diverse community from multiple cultural backgrounds. In order to work efficiently in our international environment, you need good social and cooperation skills. You can communicate smoothly in English. Finnish skills are an advantage.

The responsibilities of the position require problem-solving skills and conceptual thinking and working in responsible manner.
