We are looking for an HR Manager for our largest school, the School of Science . You will be part of the School’s management team and the University’s HR management team, reporting to the Dean of the School and in matrix to CHRO. The School of Science employs more than 1,000 employees.

The role of an HR Manager is highly important to the School’s success. People are our most important assets and together with the management team and support from the University, you will ensure our collaborative, curious and responsible culture is promoted. You are in a key role in enabling the development of education, research, and impact in the School of Science.

Your role and goals

  • Acting as a strategic partner for the School’s management team.
  • Coaching and supporting management and supervisors.
  • Leading a team of 10 HR professionals and enabling their success, well-being and engagement.
  • Organisational development and change leadership.
  • Strategic and operational HR activities, resource planning, and developing and implementing HR processes in the School.
  • Collaborating actively with our internal and external stakeholders
  • Fostering our culture and positive employer brand.

Your experience and ambitions

You are an experienced HR professional with solid experience in versatile HR activities in an international and multicultural environment. You build a positive atmosphere among your stakeholders.

  • Proven track record working as an HR manager, HR business partner or similar role in a preferably large and international organisation
  • Experience in strategic and hands-on HR support for management and supervisors
  • Good knowledge and experience of Finnish HR practices and employment law
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, positive and open mindset
  • Strong skills in building relationships with faculty, staff, University leadership and other stakeholders
  • Dynamic, collaborative, solution oriented and innovative working style
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Excellent skills in English, working proficiency in Finnish
  • In addition, we value your background as a line manager and previous experience in an academic environment.

We work in a hybrid way, and the primary workplace is Otaniemi, Espoo. The Otaniemi campus is a thriving and connected community of 100 nationalities, 12,000 students and 4,500 employees.
