Are you passionate about leading and coaching IT top talents and contributing to strategic planning and decision making at IT management team level?
We are now looking for a Head of IT platforms and development to lead Aalto University’s IT Development function.
As a Head of IT platforms and development, you establish an overall vision and strategy of IT solution development and its’ sourcing. You are responsible of planning and managing processes, roles and tools for successful IT solutions planning and deployment. You also establish and oversee budgets, plans and policies that will effectively implement the IT solutions needed by Aalto University.
The unit that you lead, Aalto University’s IT Development function, offers platforms and capabilities for better use of information and develops ways of working in IT system development. The unit comprises e.g., the areas of Integrations, Data Warehouse, Identity and Access Management, Digi Process Factory, Solution Consultation, Machine Learning, Collaboration, external project managers and project management & IT development methods.
You lead, coach and mentor 20+ highly skilled, motivated and independent professionals – the Superhero and Ninja teams, co-creating our culture of experimentation and learning, where supportive and professional leadership is a key cornerstone. Aalto IT unit has gotten great results in leadership, and we wish you share the ambition! We fail fast and learn fast – together.
You contribute to strategic planning and decision-making as a member of Aalto IT management team to develop and implement a strategy that aligns IT with Aalto University’s overall vision and its current and long-term objectives. You collaborate closely with the services functions across the University, stakeholders, partners, vendors and Aalto ecosystem developing platforms, driving digitalization and an agile way of working in the University’s culture and processes.

Your experience and ambitions
