Corporate Relations Manager for FinnCERES

Are you passionate about novel bio-based material solutions and business development?

We are seeking an energetic and ambitious professional to join our dynamic community and be a key contributor in FinnCERES related industry ecosystem development.

Your role and goals

  • Coordinate innovation, business and industry collaboration activities of the FinnCERES Flagship in collaboration with a representative from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
  • Support the FinnCERES Flagship by enhancing its services and business development.
  • Focus on facilitating new breakthrough innovations arising from research by engaging in an active dialogue with the researchers and the industry varying from multinational corporations to SMEs and start-ups.

As the Corporate Relations Manager, you will become an integral, central part of the community and work with the Flagship management team. You will be positioned in the Corporate Relations team that will support your operation, while strategic and practical guidance will be provided by the FinnCERES leadership. While you will mainly focus on the activities of FinnCERES, you will also work closely with other Aalto’s major bio-based research, development and innovation initiatives, such as the Aalto Bioinnovation Center. Work is carried out with a proactive approach in an open and supportive atmosphere.

In this task, you will use your experience from both business and academia.

What are we looking for?

  • M.Sc, Ph.D or long R&D experience, preferably subject matter expertise in forest products, modern biorefineries or forest industry
  • Experience of collaborating successfully with industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English and preferably fluency also in Finnish
  • Knowledge of relevant funding instruments and experience in research project preparation (e.g. Business Finland, EU)
  • You have a positive attitude and a track record in achieving goals and keeping partners satisfied
