The Faculty of Social sciences seeks a coordinator for a fixed-term position for the period of 1 September 2023 to 5 May 2027. The position is located in Tampere University Centre for Health in All Policies and Social Determinants of Health. 

The centre aims at supporting international research and knowledge translation for Health in All Policies (HiAP) and the social determinants of health (SDH). Our vision is to strengthen intersectoral action and to ensure that health and its social determinants are taken into account in all policymaking.

Job description 

We are looking for a coordinator to enable us to enhance the scope of our work on public health and health policy. The position will also support contract work and engagement both with Tampere University research activity as well with international research and policy networks on health. 

The work responsibilities include:

• engaging with collaborating centre -related research together with researchers in health and social policy in the University 
• updating, compiling, and mediating information for our website and social media
• engaging with research networking and research projects 
• contributing to different types of mapping and systematic searches, scoping and/or systematic reviews: and 
• compilation, classification, and visualization of data. 

Requirements 

We expect the applicant to have post-graduate education in health and public policy with experience in conducting reviews, information management and communications or to be an information specialist with experience in working in the area of health policy and social science. 

We expect you to be able to communicate and engage in webinars and collaborate with our international connections in English. Proven experience in working with systematic searches and literature reviews is considered a merit. Capacity in data visualization, science communication and data management would be an asset and the ability to work with or willingness to learn Finnish for a working language within the post is appreciated. 

We offer

The coordinator will be hired for a fixed term until 5 May 2027 .The start date will be September 1, 2023, unless another date is mutually agreed. A trial period of six months applies to all our new employees. 

The salary will be based on both the job demand and the employee's personal performance in accordance with the University Salary System. According to the criteria applied to other expert and support staff, the position of coordinatoris placed on the job demand levels 8-9. In addition, employees receive performance-based salary. Typically, the starting salary of a coordinator is around 3000-3500 EUR/month. Higher salaries may be agreed dependent upon experience and/or performance.

Tehtävä sijoittuu Tampereen yliopiston yhteiskuntatieteiden tiedekuntaan terveystieteiden yksikköön osaksi terveyden sosiaalisiin taustatekijöihin ja terveyden ylisektorien ulottuviin voimiin kohdentuvaa tutkimus ja yhteistyökeskusta. Yhteistyökeskuksen päätehtävä on tukea Terveys kaikissa politiikoissa -strategian (HiAP) ja terveyden sosiaalisten määrittäjien (SDH) kansainvälistä tutkimusta sekä tiedon välittämistä. Visiomme on vahvistaa yli sektorien ulottuvaa toimintaa ja varmistaa että terveyden sosiaaliset määrittäjät otetaan huomioon kaikissa politiikoissa.

Tehtävänkuvaus

Haemme koordinaattoria, joka tukee työtämme kansanterveyden ja kansainvälisen terveyspolitiikan alalla. Työtehtävän tavoitteena on tukea tiedonhakua ja selvitystyötä sekä yhteistyötä ja verkostoitumista niin yliopiston sisällä kuin yhteistyössä kansainvälisten järjestöjen ja tutkimusverkostojen kanssa. 

• Yhteistyökeskuksen tutkimuksiin osallistuminen ja niissä avustaminen
• Yhteistyökeskuksen verkkosivujen ylläpitäminen
• Kirjallisuushakujen ja -katsausten tekeminen
• Tutkimusaineistojen hallinta ja visualisoiminen

Edellytykset

Työnhakijalta edellytetään maisteritutkintoa terveyden tai terveyspolitiikan alalta sekä kokemusta katsausten, informaation tuottamisen ja tilaisuuksien järjestämisen sekä mielellään myös viestinnän ja verkkosivujen ylläpidon osalta. Edellytämme kiinnostusta työhön kansanterveyden ja kansainvälisen terveyspolitiikan kentällä sekä kiinnostusta yli sektorien ulottuvasta työstä ja tutkimuksesta sosiaali- ja terveyspolitiikan rajapinnassa. 

Tehtävän menestyksellinen hoitaminen edellyttää yhteistyökykyä ja vahvaa englanninkielen suullista ja kirjallista taitoa, sillä suuri osa koordinaatiosta on englanniksi. Tehtävä täytetään 1.9.2023–5.5.2027 väliseksi ajaksi.
