Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

The UCD Rehabilitation Engineering and Robotics Laboratory, part of the UCD Centre for Biomedical Engineering and across the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering, have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher to join the group. The appointment will be made for an early post-doctoral researcher.

The researcher will work on the development of a prototype robot for rehabilitation training as part of a project (acronym HaCT) funded by Enterprise Ireland and on the development and testing of a novel evaluation platform for bipedal robots as part of the Eurobench project funded by the European Union.

The researcher will be tasked with part of the design and fabrication of the prototypes for both systems.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, and the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

The initial appointment is for 18 months, with the possibility of increasing the duration depending on funding.

Salary: €37,223 - € 37,757 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
