The Position is limited to a maximum of six years. The position is intended for a first period of three years, followed by an optional prolongation of three years at most.
The professorship will represent the field of „Educational science with focus on education-relatedcounseling within the life span“ both in research and teaching.
The professorship will be involved within the undergraduate programs (BA/MA) as well as within the Master of Education at the Heidelberg School of Education. In research the professorship participates in Field of Focus 4: Self-Regulation and Regulation: Individuals and Organizations as well as in research on teacher training within the heiEDUCATION-project.
The candidate should have extensive experience and expertise in at least two of the following fields of research: counselling processes in Adult Education/ Further Education, education-related counseling, counseling regarding life-long learning, adult learning ((non)formal, informal), professionalization in in Adult Education/ Further Education as well as research on processes and impacts.
The formal requirements for the appointment comprise completed university studies, a corresponding doctorate, a habilitation or equivalent scientific accomplishments, particularly a successfully evaluated junior professorship (§ 47, Abs. 2 LHG, Baden-Württemberg) in the field of Educational Science, Psychology, Educational Research or in a close disciplines. Other requirements are didactical pedagogical aptitude which is generally proven by experience in teaching or school practice (§ 47 Abs. 3 Satz 1), experience in soliciting third-party funds, excellent publication list and the proof of extensive (international related) empirical research. English-speaking applicants should be able to perform basic administrative tasks and to comment on student essays written in German.
