Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Public Policy/Public Management/Public Administration to join the School of Government at the Wellington School of Business and Government.

The role of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Public Policy/ Public Management/Public Administration is to undertake both undergraduate and post-graduate teaching, research on an international level and research supervision of post-graduate research students, to assist in programme development where appropriate, and to contribute to the effective administration of the School, including building and maintaining relationships with the broader public policy, public management and public administration communities.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic teacher and active researcher, with a record of peer-reviewed articles in international journals commensurate with the level of appointment. Ability, experience, and willingness to teach a variety of courses across disciplines, and at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels, is highly desirable. So is experience in establishing successful relationships with professional and practitioner groups associated with public policy, public management or public administration. We are especially keen to receive applications from candidates with a Māori/Pasifika background, and with a genuine interest in building relationships with Māori and/or Pasifika communities and organisations.

Applicants must have a completed PhD in an academic field related to the subject areas of the post.

Due to the current border and immigration restrictions, applicants must be either:

(a) residing in New Zealand and legally allowed to work; or
(b) New Zealand citizens or permanent residents based overseas who are able to return to New Zealand.
