Offer Description
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining Biofoundry workflows.
- Communication with the Biofoundry user network.
- Responsibility for the renewal, sustainability and maintenance contracts of the Biofoundry equipment park.
- Daily scientific management and coordination of Biofoundry research projects and R&D development projects.
- Responsible for procuring reagents and other materials for Biofoundry projects and leading the project team.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification in related field.
Required experience
- At least one year of work experience in life science or computer science field.
- International-level research in the specialisation, the volume of which so far is equivalent to at least one doctoral thesis.
- Knowledge of various technologies, methodologies, and equipment used in bioengineering.
Required language skills
Very good command of English.
Personal qualities
- Excellent organisational and record keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good communication skills and the desire to work in an international environment.

The DigiBio project will create a research and technology platform for data-driven disruptive bioengineering solutions to accelerate translation of science to manufacturing of next-generation bioproducts. The platform relies on the generation and analysis of big data through integration of automated genome engineering, phenotype screening, high-throughput analytics, and informatics. The Estonian Biofoundry is a member of the Global Biofoundry Alliance.
