Duties and responsibilities
  • Lecturing and conducting seminars in the areas of software engineering, software architecture, web development, and/or software quality assurance.
  • Supervising PhD, Master’s and Bachelor’s theses by students.
  • Conducting research in software engineering at the international level.
  • Participation in the work of the university’s decision-making bodies is recommended.
  • Engaging in science outreach activities.

Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.

Required experience


  • Candidates must have successful teaching experience in an institution of higher education at the Bachelor’s and/or Master’s levels. Evidence of teaching experience in at least two out of the following subject matters must be provided: (1) software engineering, (2) software analytics, (3) software testing, (4) software architecture/design, (5) web-application development.
  • Research experience and publications in the field of software engineering are required. A candidate must be familiar with empirical research methods in software engineering.
  • A track record of at least five publications in highly reputable venues in the area of software engineering is required.
  • Experience in supervising students in topics related to software engineering is desirable.

Required language skills
Excellent command of the English language is required. Estonian is recommended but not required.
