Duties and responsibilities
  • conducting research in the field of ecology and biogeography of biotic interactions in plant communities, with special emphasis on mycorrhizal symbiosis and herbivory; development of methodological solutions in the same fields;
  • international-level research in the volume equivalent to at least two doctoral theses is expected in five years;
  • securing the resources necessary for the research, development and creative activities (RDC activities);
  • performing contracts related to RDC activities and taking responsibility for its effectiveness;
  • participation in teaching, supervision of postgraduate students.

Required experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of biology and biogeography of biotic interactions and plant communities, with special emphasis on mycorrhizal symbiosis and herbivory.
  • Methodological skills related to the study of these communities.
  • Author / co-author of at least 10 research articles indexed by Web of Science Science during the last five years.
  • Master's or doctoral theses must be defended under the supervision or co-supervision of the candidate.

Required language skills

Fluent in English. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. The Centre for Professional Development offers foreigners and their family members the opportunity to participate in Estonian language courses.

Starting at 01.04.2022.

Workload: 1,00.

Salary: Based on agreement, level 6, according to current salary rules.
