Senior Specialist, Research, Grant Position

Purpose: Under the supervision of the research manager, the holder of this position will assist in holding policy roundtables, workshops and conferences to share knowledge, create awareness and stimulate policy debate. She/he will work on case studies and in- depth research, including original mapping studies and surveys on innovation and interventions of the civil society, especially the giving sector, in the Arab region.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Participate and assist in the preparation and execution of the conferences, public talks and roundtable discussions both on a national and international scale
• Assist and participate in preparing articles, case studies, reports and presentation
• Work on primary and secondary data collection
• Conduct and summarize interviews
• Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary
• Take notes and writing reports in meetings and events
• Administrative responsibilities prescribed by the line manager including editing, organizing tasks in different projects, and following up with communication coordinators for research dissemination and logistics
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:   

·      Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, business administration or other social sciences. Master’s degree is an asset

Experience :

·      Minimum three years of relevant experience

Skills :

• Fluent in English and Arabic both written and oral
• Qualitative research methodology (Quantitative skills are a plus)
• Excellent analytic and writing skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team and with people from different cultures and backgrounds
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills, intuitive, and problem solving
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office, internet browsing and software related to research production
