Reports to: Senior Director for Public Affairs
Purpose: The senior officer of Public Affairs is responsible for providing support and professional expertise in the planning and execution of the two primary responsibilities of the Public Affairs unit; community engagement and special events.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assist in the planning and implementation of major campus events, as well as arrange logistics of official visits
- Manage all event details such as logistics, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, RSVP list, special guests, equipment, and promotional material while making sure that special events management policies and procedures are met
- Coordinate closely and collaboratively across the Office of Marketing Communication and Public Affairs to ensure event promotion, coverage, and marketing are integrated into the planning and execution of all events
- Develop evaluation reports to monitor attendance and success rate for all events that are initiated by the Office of Marketing Communication and Public Affairs
- Develop and oversee internal campus events, including seasonal events and regular events like Campus Conversations
- Oversee and execute VIP visits to campus
- Coordinate with students, faculty, staff and others to find collaborative ways to enhance campus connectivity
- Oversee multiple projects independently.
- Document and list actions for all debriefing meetings
- Maintain meeting minutes and ensure proper communication among all stakeholders
- Track task performance for internal and external team members
- Perform any additional tasks and day to day office requirements
Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirement:
- BA is required in a related field
- Additional and relevant certification is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of nine years of experience
- Hands-on experience in Public Affairs

- Budget planning, formulation, and monitoring
- Adhere to office-wide and public affairs unit KPIs
Computer Skills:
- Demonstrable computer knowledge, experience in various computer applications/platforms
Language Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Arabic
Working Conditions :
- Schedule: Normal office hours, with occasional extra hours including evenings and weekends
- Locale: Work is mostly office-based on the New Cairo campuses, with occasional visits to Tahrir Campus, external venue inspection, and external meeting with service providers
- Challenges: Occasionally stressful and fast-paced; requires a high energy level
- Standing and walking around the event venue for long periods is common in event management
- Walk around the campus to check on-campus communications tools, messages implementation, decorations, activations and all other activities that need in-person check.
