Research Officer, Center for Migration and Refugee Studies, Grant Position

Reports to: Senior Officer, Research

Purpose: The purpose of the job is to design and implement all the training and outreach activities that will be carried out in the framework of the newly established Egyptian Migration Hub (EHUB).

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop the training materials for stakeholders and media personnel
  • Identify stakeholders for stakeholder trainings, workshops, and meetings
  • Organize all the stakeholder trainings and workshops that are supposed to be implemented during the project timeline
  • Organize both the launching and closing events of the project
  • Organize stakeholder general forum meetings and sectoral forum meetings
  • Work with the University’s IT department in developing the project website
  • Conduct the needed research to update the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies (CMRS) database before the project launch
  • Conduct interviews and assist in producing project podcast
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field of the humanities and social science

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience including 3 years’ experience working in research and training
  • Work experience with migration and refugee-populations in Egypt is required

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of migration and refugee issues in Middle East and North Africa
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for conducting training sessions and awareness raising events, like workshops and monthly meetings, with governmental, non-governmental, and community stakeholders
  • Proven record of engaging with stakeholders in government, international organization, civil society, and migrant and refugee communities with diplomacy and skill
  • Excellent drafting and editing skills
  • Fluency in written and oral English and Arabic are mandatory
