Officer, School of Continuing Education (SCE) Branding and Communication- Tahrir Campus

Purpose: The branding and communication officer will support the SCE in the development and implementation of a branding plan along with its sub-activities. The position serves as the primary point of contact for all SCE social media channels and content management. Reporting to the SCE marketing and customer experience assistant director, the job holder will also coordinate all school needs in regards to design, video creation, editing and content management. He/she will develop and implement marketing and advertising campaigns and prepare reports.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Assist the assistant director in planning, developing, and implementing digital marketing strategies in Egypt and the Middle East to enhance brand awareness within the digital space
  • Coordinate for the proper availability of the needed promotional material as per the communication calendar and SCE annual plan on a weekly basis to ensure on-track, effective implementation.
  • Propose integrated branding decisions in coordination with assistant director, SCE marketing and customer experience
  • Coordinate content management and information sharing with respective departments and external consultants
  • Develop, implement and manage multiple social media platforms. Create monthly editorial calendars and schedules
  • Create, edit, proofread and publish well-structured social media content using keyword searching tools and search engine optimization guidelines to optimize content and increase digital footprint
  • Expand outreach and create SCE brand awareness in the Middle East within the digital space through various social media networks
  • Handle social media channel replies, maintain and improve social media response rates
  • Coordinate and assist in recruiting external consultants and service providers as designers, video editors, cameramen, professional photographers for school photo shoots and any needed events and handle their contracts and payments accordingly with the Office of Finance
  • Adhere to AUC’s communication and branding guidelines in order to communicate to external consultants and designers the correct AUC identity
  • Assist in developing action plans to support the brand, and to create awareness and attract the sought segments, to drive website traffic and generate leads
  • Create inspiring short promotional videos, manipulate film and video footage using any video software’s to be used for digital marketing and social media engagement
  • Manipulate school videos, flyers and photos with available tools for material updates as needed
  • Assist the school at conferences, meetings, exhibits, and other special events to promote new and existing programs and initiatives as directed
  • Prepare monthly statistics reports and trend analysis for various communication activities as needed in coordination with assistant director, SCE marketing and customer experience
  • Promote community awareness of school’s marketing programs, terms and events
  • Assume additional responsibilities and serve on committees as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Experience:  

  • 7-9 years’ experience including 3 years’ experience in marketing/branding/ digital marketing/ social media handling
  • Previous experience in digital marketing outside Egypt
  • Previous experience in manipulating graphics and video

 Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent skills in social media content development
  • Excellent knowledge of social media ads targeting, segmentation & analysis
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Knowledge of MAC operations and familiarity with the following softwares (or their alternatives): Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Premier, Adobe flash player.
  • Self-managed, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently given the assignment of responsibility; Demonstrated aptitude and attitude for learning new tasks quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills required; proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint, typing/keyboarding proficiency
