Reports to: Director, Career Development Department

Purpose: The general purpose of the job holder is the development and coordination of activity programs for the community that reflects the varied interests of the residents and provides them with meaningful and life enriching activities. The life enrichment officer will develop and oversee a new portfolio of programs that encompasses all facets of an individual’s being: physical, social, intellectual, artistic, and spiritual and that includes activities in and outside of the school premises. He/she is also responsible for the recruitment, training, and coordination of potential trainers and the cultivation of staff involvement in activities together with interacting with The American University in Egypt (AUC) faculty as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the concept of life enrichment for the school targeted audience, students, staff, university alumni and faculty
  • Develop an action plan for the implementation of life enrichment programs at the school
  • Develop and implement activities’ and new programs to help meet the physical, social, intellectual, artistic, and spiritual needs of the identified target groups
  • Promote marketing awareness in the community of the idea of life enrichment and the available programs and activities in coordination with Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM)
  • Cultivate/coordinate resources and entertainers to schedule various activities/programs including special events for the targeted community
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies and events to promote and draw visitors to visit Life enriching unit
  • Create monthly activity calendar that reflects the varied interests of the identified community/s and provides them with the dates, time, and location of programs
  • Establish strong partnerships with re-creational entities/offices and community partners
  • Recruit instructors/intellectuals/artistic for scheduled events/programs/activities in line with the school and department guidelines for recruitment
  • Assist in the organization of professional development activities for instructors
  • Send out and analyze Learner Evaluation Of Instructor (LEI) event/program results and reports to instructors and department director
  • Maintain databases of programs, course Course Design Form (CDF) to answer queries and generate reports
  • Communicate, advise, and inform the director and other department supervisors of activity programs and upcoming events during daily/scheduled meetings
  • Compile data on revenue and expenses as required to generate reports
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Experience

  • 7-9 years of experience in the area of continuing education, enrichment programs and/or recreational activities

Skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Team-management and leadership skills
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge

Working Conditions

  • Flexible working hours
  • Work is assigned on any AUC location or outside AUC
