Officer, Content Development, University Centers for Career Development, Grant Position

Reports to: Senior Manager, Communications, University Centers for Career Development

Purpose: The job holder serves as an interpreter and analyst, gathering a wide array of information on University Centers for Career Development (UCCD) and its core issues and helping communicate those in a consistent and compelling way. Create unique and eye-catching content that attracts readers, partners and beneficiaries. Research, prepare, write, and edit online content for marketing and front-end web development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop content goals and strategies and pitching ideas to the communication’s senior manager
  • Write and develop content for blog posts, static copy, and video content and well as the technical aspects, such Search Engine Optimization and HTML formatting
  • Contribute to UCCD technical and annual communication report
  • Collaborate with other team members and brainstorming subjects for creative content
  • Create unique, simple-to-understand, and user-friendly content using good SEO techniques
  • Write new web content and editing existing content for website, social media platforms
  • Assist 46 UCCD centers in developing engaging content for their platforms and provide training when needed
  • Assist in the development of PowerPoint decks and facilitator guides for trainings as needed
  • Edit and proofread new content before publication
  • Manage the distribution of content through our various channels, including social media
  • Analyze performance indicators and web traffic and determine the effectiveness of created content
  • Monitor and compile content on social media platforms published by the centers
  • Work closely with the capacity building team in the content development for handouts, material and brochures for trainings and other publications as needed
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, mass communication, or a related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience including 3-5 years in content development and/or digital marketing
  • Experience in copywriting, graphic design, programming, or a related field may be advantageous.

Skills:

  • Excellent command of English and Arabic, written and spoken
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and administration skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Strong working knowledge of content management software, including Asana, WordPress, Photoshop, and Flash
  • Good working knowledge of HTML and SEO
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
